How do I submit my artwork to you? Artwork can be created in our art department based on your specifications and the creative branding concepts introduced to you by KMG. We accept anything from an idea, to a rough sketch, to finished print-ready art. Client supplied artwork that meets KMG art requirements may be sent via e-mail for files under 10MB in size or via our FTP site if larger.

What file types do you accept?
We have a PC based art department running Adobe Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3. We can accept the following formats, .ai, .psd, .eps, .tif, .gif, or .jpg. However .ai, .psd, and .eps. are always recommended for the best quality production – .when sending tif, .gif, and .jpg KMG can not be held responsible for poor resolution in the final production. In some cases we may have to rework your art to make it work with our systems. For Vector-based Artwork - Please convert all text to outlines and include the font names in case changes are requested. For Raster-based Artwork - Please send artwork no less than 300dpi and at final desired print size.

What operating systems or platforms do you accept artwork from?
KMG processes artwork on computers running Windows operating system. We do accept art created in PC and Macintosh computers only in specific applications which allow cross-platform conversion (please see listing below). Please specify authoring platform when submitting art to
ensure accuracy. Conversion of files not meeting these software requirements are subject to additional charges for production.

What software programs are accepted?
Corel Draw 11.0
Adobe Illustrator 9.0 and above
Adobe Acrobat PDF / X-1
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and above

Please note that file types should be provided as listed above in section two. Unfortunately, we cannot accept ads created in the following software: Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint,
Microsoft Word, Adobe PageMaker, Quark XPress. NOTE TO FREEHAND USERS - no native formats accepted. Files must be exported to Adobe Illustrator (.ai) or EPS format and ALL TEXT/FONTS CONVERTED TO PATHS/CURVES/OUTLINES.

Do you accept graphic (raster) files? We accept: EPS, TIFF, PDF, and PSD raster files. KMG cannot accept JPEG or GIF files under 300dpi. These formats are primarily for use on the World Wide Web and due to the extreme compression are not suitable for quality output.

What font types do you accept? Please convert all fonts used to curves/outlines/paths prior to sending to avoid font matching errors. If live text will be required, please submit all fonts with your job. Ideally you should send an .ai file with live fonts AND an .eps file that has fonts created in outlines. KMG will not be responsible for art in which font substitutions must be made. MACINTOSH USERS: Mac fonts often times differ slightly from PC fonts of the same family. To avoid any discrepancy in your art, always convert all fonts to curves/outlines/paths.

How should I name my files before sending to you? Always include your company name or an abbreviation of the name at the beginning of your files. Please name files without punctuation and do not use spaces. Always advise what file format is being submitted to ensure that Windows can recognize the file format of your art. Macintosh OS does not require file extensions to be appended to the end of file names, whereas Windows does.

Can you match my PMS colors? For sign and screen printing projects, our standard colors used typically satisfy customer requirements. Custom PMS and paint color matching is available to within 5-10% variance for an additional fee. Contact your KMG representative for a list of stock colors available.

How much does it cost for artwork? Our design fee is generally $75 per hour and you will always be provided with an estimate of the hours that are expected. Definitely confirm your art fees with your KMG representative on each project.

What is the proof/approval process? On all new orders we will send you an art proof for you to review. This proof will state the size, colors an overall location of your print job. Please make sure to look over the proof carefully as once it is approved we will begin production exactly as stated in your proof. Proofs are issued 3-4 business days after all art is complete.

What should I do if I do not get a proof? If you do not receive a proof in the above mentioned 3-4 business days time frame please bring that to our attention, as we may not be aware that you didn't receive it. Sometimes wrong emails are listed or lost in cyberspace.

FTP Site: Click on this link to download a PDF instruction sheet on how to upload to our FTP site. Please always include your company name or an abbreviation of the name at the beginning of your files. Please name files without punctuation and do not use spaces.

Brand Ambassadors
Have you ever thought about including a “brand ambassador” in your next tradeshow? Most million dollar advertising campaigns include a brand spokesperson – that person does not normally work for that company they only are hired to learn what that company wants portrayed. This is a cost-effective way of promoting your image and effectively communicating with attendees.
